Christopher Barlett
Chris Barlett is Executive Director of The William Way Community Center which serves the LGBTI community in the Philadelphia region through various services and programs. Bartlett, a gay activist, feminist, educator and researcher, has been a leader in the Gay Men’s Health Movement. Some of Bartlett’s past accomplishments include the SafeGuards Gay Men’s Health Project in Philadelphia as well as the creation of the Gay Men’s Health Leadership Academy.
The Mazzoni Center
The Mazzoni Center provides quality comprehensive health and wellness services in a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT)-focused environment. Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, The Mazzoni Center draws over 30,000 people per year through a continuum of direct services, some of which include primary medical care; HIV-specialized medical care; transgender health services; preventive dental services; LGBT legal services; and outpatient mental health counseling and substance abuse treatment.

Whole Foods has a long-standing tradition of supporting the LGBTI community. The company is consistently ranked among the most socially responsible businesses. Each year, Whole Foods donates a minimum of 5% of its profits to a wide variety of community and non-profit organizations.

HEROES Highlights |
Heroes are people or organizations striving to change the
status quo and make equality a reality for all members of the
LGBTI community. Anyone can nominate a Hero or be nominated as
a Hero. Heroes are selected by the DVLF Outreach and Grantmaking
Committee and approved by the DVLF Board of Directors after
careful review of all complete submissions. Through the Heroes
program, DVLF seeks to honor those citizens and organizations
whose efforts and actions have the greatest impact on the
Delaware Valley LGBTI community and beyond.
Past individual honorees include: Barbara Gittings (2004),
Dennis P. Green (2005), Ennes Littrell (2005), Mel Heifetz (2006),
Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell (2007), Lansdowne Borough
Council Member Kevin Lee (2008), and Gloria Casarez, Director of
LGBT Affairs for the City of Philadelphia (2009).
Past nonprofit honorees include: Equality Forum (2006),
Philadelphia Gay & Lesbian Tourism Caucus (2007),
the Rainbow Room (2008),a program of Planned Parenthood of
Bucks County, and AIDS Fund (2009).
Past corporate honorees include: Merrill Lynch (2007),
Citigroup - Citibank & Smith Barney (2008), and PNC Wealth
Management (2009).

The Delaware Valley Legacy Fund's mission is to raise the permanent endowment for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex (LGBTI), and straight-allied communities.
DVLF supports community organizations through grants, marketing, fundraising, technical assistance and planned giving trainings.
